At G&C Asphalt, we take extra measures to ensure the safety of our clients, employees, and work sites.

We are not only concerned with safety during the time of construction, but with the safety of people who will be using the roads and structures we build. By putting safety and quality first, we are protecting not only our people and our clients, but our entire community.

Our safety practices include:

Designated Safety Officer

As part of our commitment to safety, we have a full-time safety officer on staff. Our safety officer develops safety procedures, ensures that our work sites are being operated according to those procedures, performs equipment inspections and safety training, and answers any questions that our employees have regarding safe work practices.

COR Certification

G&C Asphalt is proud to be COR certified through the Heavy Construction Safety Association of Saskatchewan. COR certification helps us maintain a culture of safety through rigorous safety practices, training and meetings.

Employee safety orientation

All new employees are put through an orientation on safety and then a more specific orientation once they are assigned to a crew. There is also an annual orientation of all returning employees. We want to ensure that all employees are aware of any changes in safety throughout a construction season.

Two types of safety training

One way we make sure that all of our employees are working safely on a daily basis is provide on the job training as well as classroom training. This training ranges from First Aid to Ground Disturbance to Powered Mobile Equipment Operator training and any other training that is needed.

Drug and alcohol testing

To ensure that our worksites remain safe for employees and clients, we have implemented a random drug and alcohol testing policy.

We believe that safety is not just something you read about but something that you live and believe. We want all our employees to understand that "no job is worth doing if you can't do it safely."
